Caymanian English is the variety of English spoken in the Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean (~70K population, ~30K native Caymanians). Distinct from Jamaican Patois though heavily influenced by it through 19th-century Jamaican migration to George Town and West Bay, plus Scottish and English settler heritage from the Mosquito Coast. Features include rhotic /r/, h-dropping in some sociolects, characteristic intonation contour, and lexicon like 'cattyboo' (caterpillar) and 'mosquito hawk' (dragonfly). Coexists with Jamaican Creole influence in informal speech.
