Brummie è il nome locale dell'inglese associato a Birmingham, mentre la parlata del vicino Black Country è affine ma distinta e non va semplicemente trattata come lo stesso dialetto. L'inglese di Birmingham varia all'interno della città e per etnia, età, classe e stile, riflettendo sia modelli antichi delle West Midlands sia migrazioni successive.
