Nilo-Saharan (Western Nilotic, Luo)
L’acholi est une langue nilotique occidentale (luo) parlée dans le nord de l’Ouganda et au Soudan du Sud, étroitement apparentée au lango et à l’alour (les trois forment le groupe acholi-alour). C’est la langue associée au conflit de la « Lord’s Resistance Army », mais elle possède aussi une riche tradition de littérature orale.
