Interlingua (IALA, 1951) is a naturalistic international auxiliary language designed by the International Auxiliary Language Association under Alexander Gode. Its vocabulary is derived from Latin/Romance roots common to the 'control languages' English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese; readable on first sight by anyone literate in a Romance language. Unlike Esperanto's schematic regularization, Interlingua follows a naturalistic philosophy — words appear in their most international Romance form. The Union Mundial pro Interlingua maintains the Panorama in Interlingua magazine and an active online community.
