Ottoman Turkish (لسان عثمانی Lisân-ı Osmânî) was the literary and administrative register of the Ottoman Empire from ~1300 to 1928. Heavy borrowing from Arabic and Persian created a register often unintelligible to ordinary Anatolian Turkish speakers. The 1928 Atatürk language reform replaced the Arabic-derived script with Latin and purged most Arabic/Persian vocabulary, producing modern Turkish (tr).
