Aleut (Унаӈан тунуу / Unangam Tunuu) is the sole surviving Aleut branch of the Eskimo-Aleut family, sister to all Eskimo (Inuit + Yupik) languages. Speakers split between Alaska's Aleutian and Pribilof Islands and Russia's Commander Islands (Bering and Mednyj). Atka and Eastern dialect standards differ; the data shown here uses the Eastern standard. Mednyj Aleut on Bering Island is a unique mixed Aleut-Russian language.
